Membership in the Biotechnology Institute allows individuals, organizations and biotechnology companies to:
- Shape national biotechnology education. Shape the national biotechnology and broader science education agenda in the US and globally by helping to guide the Institute.
- Be recognized by peers and gain visibility in community. Be recognized as supporting the national biotechnology education organization and being a leader in the field of biotechnology education.
- Impact local communities. Support community-based programs that focus on formal education, societal issues, or workforce development.

- Individual Member ($90)
Individual membership is offered to such individuals as educators, students, scientists, and biotechnology leaders.

- Nonprofit Partner Member ($150)
Nonprofit Partner membership is offered to nonprofit or government organizations with an interest in supporting biotechnology education. This includes state biotechnology associations, state economic development and other government agencies, school districts, universities and colleges, and research centers

- Affiliate Member ($1,000+)
Affiliate membership is offered to private sector entities not in the biotechnology industry that provide products and services that are of value to the rest of the Institute’s membership. These would include providers of school supplies, publishers, software developers, and computer manufacturers, among others
