
Bayer fellows program
Bayer Healthcare and the Biotechnology Institute will host a two-day training session (May 21-23, 2008) in Berkeley, CA. The mentoring program pairs Bayer Scientists and Executives with 10 top-quality graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, or Fellows, from leading institutions in communities proximate to Bayer facilities in California and Washington State.
The program will provide postdoctoral researchers the opportunity to explore careers in biotechnology and associated industries. Fellows will undergo rigorous professional development training in areas such as emerging technologies, industrial entrepreneurship, and career-building skills, including interview techniques and resume writing.
Each Fellow participant will be matched with a Bayer industry mentor/scientist who is expected to participate actively in the Fellows Program. Mentors are also encouraged to provide Fellows with courtesy introductions to colleagues and leaders in the biotechnology industry.

Recipients of the Fellowship receive:
- One-year of personalized mentoring from a Bayer mentor
- Admission to the 2 day Fellows Training Program
- Meals to include a Fellows-Mentors Networking Dinner
- One year of individual membership to the Biotechnology Institute
- Costs for travel and lodging as necessary
