Genzyme- Invitrogen Biotech Educator Award
The Biotech Educator Award recognizes exemplary teaching at the high school level that has positively impacted students’ understanding of biotechnology’s promise and challenges. The winners receive cash awards of $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500 respectively and are chosen from among the Institute’s network of Teacher-Leaders by a panel of judges from academia, research, and the industry. These educators serve as models for how to incorporate biotechnology into the classroom and act as a resource for their peers. The finalists participate in the National Conference on Biotechnology Education and compete to win the top prize. The winners are announced at the Biotechnology Awards Banquet, and the winner will be honored at a plenary event at the 2008 Biotechnology Industry Organization International Convention.
