sanofi-aventis Northeast Regional BioGENEius Challenge

The sanofi-aventis Northeast Regional BioGENEius Challenge is a competition for high school students who are doing outstanding research in biotechnology in the Northeast.

The Northeast region includes the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia.

To reach the sanofi-aventis Northeast Regional BioGENEius Challenge, you follow this path:

Submit your application and research project description for state judging. Submissions must arrive at the Biotechnology Institute by February 6, 2009.
If you are selected as one of the two state finalists, you are eligible to receive a $400 travel award and an invitation to compete in the sanofi-aventis Northeast Regional BioGENEius Challenge.

Two regional finalists from the Northeast will receive an all-expense paid trip to compete at the sanofi-aventis International BioGENEius Challenge, which takes place during the Biotechnology Institute's Conference on Biotechnology Education in Atlanta, GA (May 17-19, 2009).

The first place winner of the sanofi-aventis International BioGENEius Challenge receives a $7,500 cash award. Other awards include $5,000 for second place, $2,500 for third place, and $1,000 for fourth place. Each remaining finalist will receive a $500 Honorable Mention Award.
