BioGENEIus Challenge

The sanofi-aventis Southeast Regional BioGENEius Challenge is a competition for high school students who are doing outstanding research in biotechnology in the Southeast.
The Southeast region includes the following states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia*, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee**.
To reach the sanofi-aventis Southeast Regional BioGENEius Challenge, you follow this path:
- First, submit your application and research project description to the Biotechnology Institute by February 15, 2008 for state judging.
- If you are selected as one of the two state finalists, you are eligible to
receive a $400 travel award and an invitation to compete in
the sanofi-aventis Southeast Regional BioGENEius Challenge.

Two regional finalists from the Southeast will receive an all-expense paid trip to compete at the sanofi-aventis International BioGENEius Challenge, which takes place during the Biotechnology Institute's Annual Conference on Biotechnology Education in San Diego, CA (June 16-18, 2008).
The first place winner of the sanofi-aventis International BioGENEius Challenge receives a $7,500 cash award. Other awards include $5,000 for second place, $2,500 for third place, and $1,000 for fourth place. Each remaining finalist will receive a $500 Honorable Mention Award.
