National Organizations

There's a wealth of information on the Web about the science of biotechnology. The following lists of Web resources are meant to serve as guide for sites of interest in biotechnology. Inclusion on these lists does not indicate endorsement by the Biotechnology Institute. If you would like to submit your link for inclusion, email info@biotechinstitute.org. American Association of Community Colleges
The American Association of Community Colleges is the primary advocacy organization for the nation's community colleges. The Association represents more than 1,100 associate degree granting institutions and some 10 million students.

American Society of Human Genetics. The American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG), founded in 1948, is the primary professional membership organization for human geneticists in the Americas. The nearly 8,000 members include researchers, academicians, clinicians, laboratory practice professionals, genetic counselors, nurses and others involved in or with special interest in human genetics.

Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO)
BIO provides biotechnology, information, advocacy and business support for the biotechnology industry.

Bio-Link
Bio-Link.org works to educate the biotechnology workforce providing information for teachers, students and job seekers.

Cato Institute
Cato Institute maintains a directory that contains over 3500 links to companies, research institutes, universities, sources of information and other directories specific to biotechnology, pharmaceutical development and related fields. It places emphasis on product development and the delivery of products and services. 

Institute for Educational Excellence and Enterpreneurship.
The 3E Institute is a global center for identifying, supporting, and mentoring entrepreneurial educators who prepare children and youth to succeed in a learning environment based on interest, passion, discovery and initiative.

The National Academies
The National Academies are the advisors to the nation on science, engineering and medicine.

National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT)
NABT is the leader in life science education. Their mission statement reads, "The National Association of Biology Teachers empowers educators to provide the best possible biology and life science education for all students."

National Science Teachers Association (NSTA)
NSTA's mission is to promote excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all. The site contains information on publications, classroom materials, conferences, and other teaching resources.

Northwest Association of Biomedical Research
