
Serono BioFest
On Tuesday, November 1, 2005, Serono, Inc. hosted Serono BioFest, a celebration of biotechnology and an opportunity for teachers and students to meet and interact with Serono scientists and tour their facility providing a preview of real-life applications of biotechnology at a first-rate biotech facility. Guests included local teachers, local students who submitted posters to the poster competition and their parents, and key individuals from Serono, Inc., the Biotechnology Institute, and MassBioEd. As part of the Serono BioFest celebration, the Biotechnology Institute announced that as part of Serono, Inc.’s commitment to education and its local community, Serono will sponsor 10 teachers from the South Shore to attend the 2006 National Biotechnology Teacher-Leader Program from April 6th-9th in Chicago, IL.
